Coastal Recreation, a project of National Marine Manufacturer’s Association (“we” or “our”) is located at www.coastalrecreation.org (the “Website”). The purpose of the Website is to educate the public about the National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA’s) recent proposed changes to vessel speed regulations and how a more balanced approach will mitigate certain risks to the recreational boating and fishing industries. We respect your privacy. As part of our commitment to safeguard your privacy we have adopted this Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) for the Website. 

Personal Information We Collect

We may ask for some personally identifiable information, including your name and email address, when you sign up to receive information from the Website such as joining our mailing list.  If you would like us to remove your personally identifiable information from our systems, you may do so by submitting a written request to [email protected]. We will make reasonable efforts to delete your information. 

Non-Personal Information We Collect

We may record information about your use of the Website, that is not personally identifiable information but may provide information about your browsing history or certain other information about you through the use of a variety of technologies, including, but not limited to, cookies, tags, web beacons, and other tools to help us understand how you use the Website and help us provide the Website and the services to you. “Cookies” are pieces of code/text that get placed on your computer when you browse the Website. Cookies may be placed by us, or third-party advertisers contracted by us. “Tags” and “Web Beacons” refer to code scripts that are primarily used to track visitors’ activities on the Website.  Examples of some of the information we may collect are the address of the website you visited just prior to navigating to the Website, the time and date of your visit to the Website; the search terms you used, and whether you are a new or returning user.

If you choose to decline cookies, some features the Website offers may be unavailable to you.  Currently, we do not recognize automated browser signals regarding tracking mechanisms, such as “do not track” instructions.

If you submit personally identifiable information to us through the Website, we may use your personally identifiable information to operate, maintain, and provide to you the services you request.  We may also send you information relating to the subject matter of the Website.  In any such emails, we will include information on how to opt-out of receiving emails from us in the future.

If you provide us with your email address, we may use it without further consent to send you non-marketing or administrative emails related to the Website.  In any such emails, we will include information on how to opt-out of receiving emails from us in the future.

We use your personally identifiable information and your non-personally identifiable usage information to improve the Website and to create new content we think will appeal to our users. We do not provide identifiable personal information to vendors that assist us in on-line tracking.

Social Networking Sites and Links 

We may allow you to interact with the Website using a third-party social networking site, such as sharing our content or using Facebook’s “Like” button.  Any information we receive from the social networking site to validate your account or otherwise facilitate such services will be subject to this policy, but information the social networking site receives from such activities will be governed by its own privacy policy.

If we include links to third party sites on the Website, we are not responsible for your activities or the activities of any such third-party sites once you navigate away from the Website.  This Privacy Policy applies only to our Website so if you click on a link to another website, you should review the privacy policy of that website before accessing that content.

The Website is intended for adult audiences and isn’t intended for minors.  We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from users under the age of 18. Please notify us if you believe we have collected a minor’s personal information, and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
